Idk if we came here on a good day, but damn, we had a great experience! I honestly was skeptical with the yelp rating, but they were great and even if they're in South SF, this particular location was fantastic and I'd be down to come again. The place was clean, and we sat ourselves. I think it was slightly confusing since the host is across from the entrance as opposed to its typical spot in front of the entrance. Service was super fast, food was out in like less than 15 minutes with half the restaurant full on a Sunday - right after when an 11:30 mass would, I might add. They handled our table efficiently with several servers willing to bring us requested items such as more napkins or more Mang Tomas. Food was delicious - we ordered the kare kare, pancit canton, lechon kawali, regular steamed rice, garlic fried rice, Daing na Bangus, and Whole Max's Fried Chicken. The kare kare was particularly flavorful, and almost didn't need the bagoong (but used it anyway lol). However, their house special fried chicken wasn't as flavorful as I expected :\ Everything else was good though. Would happily come back.

Service & food was great ! Our server greeted us from the entrance door and gave us a table that will be easier for my elderly mom to move around with her walker. And their halo halo still the best !

Max's restaurant of South San Francisco is pretty awesome for handling big groups such as my big family. The service was pretty good considering that there was nearly 25 of us. The ambience was a normal Filipino restaurant serving family style meals! Per usual I bring my own American ketchup because I don't like the taste of Filipino ketchup One star less because they ran out of ube ice cream!
